Jill Watson, Master Director
Our director, Jill Watson, joined the Grand Traverse Show Chorus in 2002 and became the front-line director in October of 2011.
Jill won the "Novice Director of the Year Award" for directing the chorus that scored the most points in her 2012 Regional contest directorial debut!
Always an active member of the chorus, Jill has served as bass section leader, music team member, marketing chair, visual team member, assistant director, co-director and has been the annual show program coordinator for many years. She sings bass in her medal-winning quartet, Sashay and loves the thrill of four-part harmony.
Upon achieving a minimum of 600 points in the 2016 annual regional competition(!), Jill reached a personal goal and is now a Master Certified Director with Sweet Adelines International.

JILL'S RETIREMENT (*SNIFF*)
Last autumn Jill suffered a serious medical condition. She was forced to realize that she needed to take a step back from being the front line director of the GTSC. She has led us through the past 13 years with an amazing amount of energy, honor and grace.
With her dedication and guidance we accomplished many wonderful things including: Jill becoming a Master Director, leading us to International Competition TWICE, and guaranteeing we thrived through the pandemic. We can never thank her enough for all the contributions, time and love she has given to our Mighty Little Chorus! Mere words cannot express what Jill and her devotion to our chorus has meant to us (but she knows it:)
With her blessing, we are starting our director search immediately. Jill intends to wave her arms in front of us as long as she can, to guide us through our upcoming Regional Competition and some of our summer gigs. We look forward to making her final Regional Competition as our director one to remember.
